"This sculpture is inspired by the various layers of textured sedimentary rock visible upon the surface of the Brimham Rocks in Yorkshire. Millions of years ago this area was a riverbed, each layer tells a story of how the rock was formed either through fast moving or slow flowing water. You can still see the shapes in the rock formed by these currents of water. The patterns of the willow on the surface of this sculpture represent the lines in the rock created by the flowing water."
